A crypto comedy built from the ground up.
Grund Thuft Uto started as an original animated parody of Web3 culture — its hype, chaos, personalities and spectacularly bad decisions. Instead of making a one-off film, we built a world that could keep expanding.
Bad ideas. Worse execution. Somehow, a token.
The series follows Jeson Derpal and his wildly unqualified crew as they stumble their way into launching $GTU. What begins as another questionable crypto idea quickly spirals into something much bigger.
Simple faces. Distinct personalities.
The character design was inspired by the “derp” aesthetic — tiny eyes pushed toward the edges of the face, simple features and deliberately awkward proportions. This shared visual language makes the characters instantly recognizable and gives GTU its distinctive personality.
Welcome to Rug City.
A tropical crypto metropolis where founders, influencers, traders, scammers and wannabe millionaires all collide. Rug City was designed as a complete universe from the beginning, with recurring locations that connect the episodes and make the world feel familiar over time. Places like Degen Marina, the Buy High Club and GTU Headquarters give the characters a world they can keep returning to — and us one we can keep expanding.
A cartoon with cinematic ambitions.
We developed a stylized 2D animated look combining clean shapes and expressive characters with cinematic framing, lighting and movement. The goal was never to imitate traditional AI video, but to make GTU feel like its own animated show.
An AI-native production from end to end.
Characters, environments, shots and animation were developed through an AI-native production workflow, with Seedance 2.0 at the core of the animation process. AI made the scale possible — direction, consistency and countless iterations made it a series.
From experiment to original IP.
What started as an idea became an award-winning animated project and the foundation of a larger series. The first full season of Grund Thuft Uto expands Rug City with new episodes, characters and increasingly chaotic stories.
